Week 7 Part B: How Other Businesses Use Instagram Including Hashtags

"As a landscape designer, I took a closer look at five businesses to see how they use Instagram to connect with their audiences and leverage hashtags. Here's what I discovered:

  1. Louie's Landscaping: With 4,909 followers and over 4,600 posts, they’re very active. They focus on showcasing photos of their work, but I noticed they don't seem to use hashtags effectively. Adding tags like #LandscapingIdeas or #OutdoorDesign could help them reach a wider audience.

  2. Skate Ecosystems: This innovative brand has 52,000 followers and uses niche hashtags like #SkateEcosystems and #SustainableSkateboarding. Their focused strategy effectively targets a specific community and shows how hashtags can enhance visibility.

  3. Precision Landscaping: With 11,400 followers, they specialize in luxury outdoor spaces. Their use of hashtags such as #LuxuryLandscaping and #DreamBackyard matches their upscale branding and attracts their ideal audience.

  4. Nadia Gill Landscape Architect: This account, with 3,591 followers, uses hashtags like #LandscapeArchitecture and #ModernHeritage to reflect their modern aesthetic. Their posts highlight thoughtfully designed spaces, and the tags complement their style.

  5. COS Design: With 57,200 followers, they showcase bespoke landscapes. Their hashtags, such as #GardenDesign and #ModernLuxury, perfectly align with their premium offerings. They pair visually stunning posts with relevant tags to maximize engagement.

Through this research, I’ve realized how important it is to be consistent with posting and intentional with hashtags. I plan to integrate a mix of broad, local, and specific tags, like #LandscapeDesign, #SustainableLandscaping, and one unique to my brand. Inspired by their strategies, I'm excited to refine my own Instagram presence."
